Pastoral
Care
We aim to have an active and effective Pastoral Care
Ministry at BBC evidenced by a real sense of friendliness and a reputation for being
a caring community of God’s people both within the church
and in the community.
We currently have nine levels of Pastoral Care (from very basic
to crisis care) offered:
- Friendship care — basic practical Pastoral Care expressed by
every person... “love one another” principle (John 13.34).
- Welcoming Team — greeting and making everybody feel welcome
at our worship services.
- Newcomers Follow-up Team — those involved in the initial
follow-up and facilitation of the integration of newcomers into
the church
community.
- In Touch Ministry Team — an organised structure of basic “keeping
in touch” care intended for every person in the Church
community based in neighbourhood network groups.
- Growth Groups — seen as a primary source of Pastoral Care
in every Bible Study and Fellowship Group and Ministry Team within
the
Church community.
- Response Team — Pastoral Care offered in response to
special needs.
- Pastoral Care in Worship — Pastoral Care offered in the
gathered Community.
- Pastors and Elders — offer general Pastoral Care, crisis
care and care as requested.
- Pastoral Care Equipping and Workshops — seen as preventative
and educational.
Sharing God’s Love (Contact)
Once a month the loose change in the offering is used to provide
food vouchers and other acts of kindness to those in need.
Christmas food hampers are also distributed. BBC also takes
part in Operation Christmas Child.
Support Group for Parents of Children with Special Needs
This ministry helps to create an environment for sharing friendship,
experiences and resources for families of children with special
needs. They meet every 4 to 6 weeks.
