Our
leaders
The church’s leadership structure consists of a Church Board,
Servant Leaders, Elders, and Staff. Included in this structure are
Ministry Team Leaders and Small Group Leaders. A couple of times
a year this leadership group gathers for vision casting, coordination,
prayer and encouragement.
Church Board
The Church Board provides oversight of all policies, administration,
finances, staff and vision. The Church Board meets monthly and consists
of the Senior Pastor, Church Secretary, Chairman, an Elder and two
members.
Servant Leadership Team
The Servant Leadership Team (SLT) provides oversight of all of the
ministries and strategies being undertaken within the church community.
Each member of the SLT has an area of ministry to oversee. Leadership
is provided to groups of Ministry Team Leaders, who in turn focus
on particular individual ministries. Each individual ministry is
directed at a particular part of our vision to become a Biblically
functioning community.
Elders
The practice at Belconnen Baptist Church is to affirm elders for
a period of 4 years. Elders are not included in the BBC Constitution
as Church Officers, but operate as a ministry team with a longer
time perspective supporting the Pastors, Church Board and Servant
Leaders. They are available for pastoral ministry, prayer and guidance.
Staff
The current staff team comprises a
Senior
Pastor, a Pastor of Integration,
a Pastor for Youth and Young Adults,
and an Associate
Pastor - Children. The church also employs an
Administrator,
Finance Officer, Office Secretary,
Office Assistant and
Property Officer. They have
been called by the church to lead, equip and care for the people
in their areas of ministry.
